In Bolu, after a heavy odor emanating from the third floor of an apartment building forced neighbors to move out, a unit was entered with the prosecutor's permission, and 6 cats left in poor condition were taken into protection. Teams entering the apartment with the help of a locksmith found that many areas of the home were covered in cat feces, items were scattered around, and garbage had accumulated inside.
A strong and foul odor spreading from a third-floor apartment of a five-story building in Bahçelievler Neighborhood, affiliated with the central district in Bolu, alarmed the residents.
UNBEARABLE AS WEATHER WARMS
Citizens suffering from the smell, which has persisted for about six months and become unbearable with the warming weather, reported the situation to the relevant authorities. Since the tenant occupying the apartment was out of town and entry was not possible, a court order was obtained.
CAT FECES EVERYWHERE IN THE HOUSE
Officials entered the apartment with police assistance and a locksmith, encountering a shocking scene. It was determined that six cats had been left neglected for a long time, and the entire house was covered in cat feces. The six cats, struggling to survive under poor conditions, were taken by authorities.
"A TENANT NEIGHBOR COULDN'T TAKE IT AND MOVED TO ANOTHER DISTRICT"
Building manager Ercan Türkyılmaz, stating they have suffered greatly for months, said: "We have been struggling with this smell for about six months. We've been to every institution, and hopefully it's resolved today. There was an extreme odor, and my neighbors were very disturbed because of it. In fact, two days ago, a tenant neighbor couldn't take it and moved to another district. With the court order, we entered the apartment, saw the cats were neglected, and authorities took them away. We're airing out the building, and if the house is cleaned, we think we will be rid of this smell forever."
While a report was being filed on the incident, efforts will begin to clean the apartment that emitted the strong odor into the environment.
