The 8th Ordinary Provincial Congress of the AK Party in Diyarbakır was held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

In the congress where the current Provincial Chairman Raşit Ocak was not nominated, Ömer İleri, the Imam of Nebi Mosque in the Sur district, was the only candidate. İleri, who was elected as the new president, made a comparison of President Erdoğan to Prophet Noah in his speech at the congress.

Together, we will walk with determined steps on the right path we know."
