Citizens flocked to a store in Zonguldak after hearing that every product was being sold for 100 lira as part of the store's opening campaign. Shoppers wanting to buy more than one item created a stampede. In the section of the store featuring glass products, many items were broken in the crowd, and there were occasional scuffles as well.
A store in the Alaplı district of Zonguldak announced that it is selling every product for 100 lira as part of its opening campaign. Even before the store opened, citizens formed a queue in front of the door. As soon as the doors opened, the crowd rushed inside.
STORE OWNERS CLOSED THE DOORS
There were moments of chaos in the crowd both in front of and inside the store. The store owners found a solution by closing the doors of the establishment. By closing the doors, the store owners tried to keep the entrances and exits under control.
GLASS PRODUCTS WERE BROKEN
The store, which mainly consisted of products made of glass such as glasses, pitchers, and storage containers, saw many glass items break due to the intense crowd. Citizens were practically competing with each other to buy one more product.
“CAMPAIGN WILL CONTINUE” BUT IT DIDN'T HELP
Although there were moments of scuffles, the business owners announced that the campaign would continue for another two months. However, this announcement could not prevent the shopping frenzy of the citizens.
