Armed groups opposing the Assad regime in Syria have captured the province of Hama, which was under the control of Bashar Assad's regime forces, following the provinces of Aleppo and Idlib. Armed groups that have reclaimed most of the city center of Aleppo and all of Idlib province from regime forces have entered the regime-controlled province of Hama located in the south of Idlib. In the evening hours, groups that captured the district of Khan Shaykhun in Idlib advanced and took control of the settlements of Taybetul Imam, Keferzeyte, Keferenbude, Hilfeye, Kaletmadik, Latamine, Soran, Kirnez, Mardes, Hammaiyet, and Termele located in the north of Hama. The armed groups also took Morik district, one of the most important districts of Hama located on the M5 highway, from regime forces. The armed groups, which have also taken control of Mount Zeynel Abidin, are located approximately 8 kilometers away from the center of Hama district. Russian and Syrian army soldiers were forced to leave Hama Air Base. The opposition fighters who entered the city center celebrated their victory by firing into the air.
