In the Kapaklı district of Tekirdağ, businessman Mesut Uyumaz was shot and killed in a car by his former partner Orhan Aybaş. Aybaş, identified by security cameras, was captured and arrested by the gendarmerie.
In the Kapaklı district of Tekirdağ, businessman Mesut Uyumaz (48) was shot and killed with 4 bullets from a gun by Orhan Aybaş (42), with whom he had previously done business. After the murder, Aybaş fled but was captured and arrested by the gendarmerie.
At around 00:30 in the İnönü neighborhood of Kapaklı, citizens reported to the gendarmerie after seeing a car with the license plate 59 AET 553 with its door open. Gendarmerie teams who arrived at the scene found Mesut Uyumaz, who operated a crane business in Kapaklı and Çerkezköy, dead in the back seat of the car. The investigation revealed that Uyumaz had been shot 4 times in the chest, neck, and chin with a gun.
CAMERAS EXAMINED ONE BY ONE
Teams from the Kapaklı District Gendarmerie Command, which initiated an investigation into the murder, examined the security cameras in the area one by one. The images obtained from 24 security cameras identified the murder suspect as Orhan Aybaş. Aybaş was captured and taken into custody by the gendarmerie while waiting for a car at the bus station.
ARRESTED
After his procedures at the gendarmerie, Aybaş was taken to the courthouse in the morning, where he was arrested by the court. In his statement, Aybaş said that he met with Mesut Uyumaz after Uyumaz called him and said they could jointly purchase a piece of land he had found. Aybaş, who stated that they met with Uyumaz, said, "When we met, he asked me to sell my crane and buy the land. He said that the people selling the land would also come. Meanwhile, he pointed a gun at my neck and started shouting, 'You will sell the crane, you will give it.' In a moment of reflex, I grabbed the gun. He ran towards his vehicle, and I fired."
