In a horrific accident in Bangladesh, a passenger bus carrying 40 people fell into a river while boarding a ferry, resulting in the recovery of 26 bodies. While search efforts for the missing individuals continue, the government has established a five-member committee to investigate the cause of the accident.
As a result of the search and rescue operations initiated after a bus fell into the Padma River in Bangladesh, divers have recovered the bodies of 26 individuals.
FELL INTO THE RIVER WHILE BOARDING THE FERRY
According to The Daily Star, search and rescue operations were launched for the passengers of the bus that was carrying 40 people and fell into the Padma River while attempting to board the ferry in the Rajbari district of Bangladesh.
The search and rescue operations, involving 10 divers and conducted by 4 teams, received support from the army, police, coast guard, and local government.
BODIES OF 26 INDIVIDUALS FOUND
As a result of the rescue operations, the bodies of 26 individuals were recovered, and the remains of 22 were handed over to their families.
GOVERNMENT TAKES ACTION
Deputy Director of Rajbari Fire and Civil Defense, Dewan Sohel Rana, stated that the search and rescue operations are ongoing. A committee of 5 members has been established to investigate the cause of the accident.
