In the Kemalpaşa neighborhood, K.Y. climbed on the monument depicting Atatürk and his comrades during the War of Independence. The suspect slapped one of the statues on the cheek and pulled its ear, and was recorded by a nearby person with a mobile phone.

DETAINED

After the images were shared on social media, police teams took action and apprehended the suspect at his home.

In Eskişehir, an individual attacked the New Year market prepared by the Odunpazarı Municipality, shouting "This is a sharia country," damaging lights, tables, and tents. The person then pointed at the statue of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and shouted, "We will destroy all these idols."
