After sharing moments of wearing a headscarf on the plane, the phenomenon Murat Övüç was detained and later released under judicial control. As soon as Övüç was released, he made another post.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation against Murat Övüç, who drew reactions with his posts on social media while wearing a headscarf. Övüç was detained in Beyoğlu on charges of "openly insulting the religious values adopted by a segment of the public."
MURAT ÖVÜÇ RELEASED
It was determined that Övüç had a record for the crimes of "Inciting or Insulting the Public to Hatred and Hostility, Insulting the Turkish Nation, the Republic, and the Institutions and Organs of the State, Intentional Injury, Misuse of Trust." After his procedures at the police station, Övüç was brought to the courthouse today. Following the interrogation, Övüç was released under judicial control.

After his release, the phenomenon Övüç did not make any statements regarding his detention. He posted on his social media account, saying, "There is a party tonight. Come out, come on."
