The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation against Murat Övüç, who drew reactions with his posts on social media while wearing a headscarf. Övüç was detained in Beyoğlu on charges of "openly insulting the religious values adopted by a segment of the public." After his procedures at the police station, Övüç was brought to the courthouse today. Following the interrogation, Övüç was released under judicial control.
