In Fatih, Istanbul, a 23-year-old epilepsy patient named Ahmet Top fainted at the entrance of an apartment building while someone stole the phone from his pocket and fled the scene. The footage captured by security cameras was shocking.

In Fatih, a person saw 23-year-old Ahmet Top, who is disabled and suffers from epilepsy, fainting at the entrance of an apartment building and took the phone from his pocket before leaving. Those moments were captured by security cameras.

STOLE HIS PHONE WHILE HAVING AN EPILEPTIC SEIZURE

The incident occurred on the evening of November 1 in the Molla Gürani neighborhood. Ahmet Top, who has a 95% disability report, fell to the ground while having an epileptic seizure at the entrance of the apartment. At that moment, a person nearby noticed Ahmet Top lying unconscious on the ground and approached him. After checking the young man's condition, the person rummaged through his pockets and took the phone from Ahmet Top's pocket before leaving the scene. Neighbors who noticed the situation rushed to help the young man and informed his mother.

"HAVE WE COME TO THIS, WILL WE EXPERIENCE THESE THINGS?"

Ahmet Top's mother, Gülten Top, said, "A neighbor came and said, 'Sister, Ahmet has fainted.' As usual, I grabbed the dressing materials and went immediately. They said, 'There’s nothing wrong.' They took him to the side, and we didn’t know about the incident at that time. I took him home, but Ahmet was delirious, constantly saying 'phone, phone.' A few hours later, when he came to himself, he said, 'Mom, a man came, rummaged through my pockets, and then took my phone.' His earphones were left around his neck. When we watched the footage, everything became clear. The man first walks by, doesn’t touch him. Then he turns back, searches my son, and takes the phone and leaves. Ahmet is an epilepsy patient; he has issues with his hands, feet, and intellect. During the day, he walks around by himself, drinks tea with his brothers. He poses no harm to anyone. In the evening, he comes home and eats his meal. The incident happened at the time of the evening call to prayer, and I was going to take him home in 5-10 minutes. He has a 95% disability report, and he is registered at the police station. Sometimes they beat him, and we file complaints. We will go to file a complaint again this evening. We were even more upset after watching the cameras. A perfectly healthy man steals my son's phone instead of helping him. Have we come to this, will we experience these things? I am very sad; I am also a diabetic, and right now everything hurts."
