THEY BURNED SULFUR AND ALCOHOL TO SCARE AWAY RATS
The incident that took place in Oğulkent Site Block F on Derbent Street in Bedestenilioğlu Neighborhood caused terrifying moments for the residents. According to claims, two women tried to create smoke by burning sulfur in the attic to get rid of the rats seen in the apartment. However, an unexpected chemical reaction occurred when alcohol was poured over the sulfur and ignited.
CHEMICAL SMOKE POISONED 4 PEOPLE
The intense chemical smoke spreading from the roof as a result of the women's attempt to scare away the rats with smoke quickly filled the entire apartment. Residents panicked and rushed to the balconies, struggling to breathe. Upon notification of the situation, fire crews from Tokat Municipality were dispatched to the scene.
Citizens trapped inside due to the smoke were rescued by the fire department's ladder. Four citizens affected by the smoke were taken to various hospitals in the city, while the two women who started the fire were sent to the police station for their statements. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
