The leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, announced during his party's group meeting that Serap Yazıcı, a former member of the Future Party who recently joined the AK Party, had expressed her desire to switch to the CHP a few days ago. Özel stated, "That person went to our Antalya deputy and said, 'My objection to the one-man regime is not enough in my party; I want to join the CHP.'"
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel made statements regarding the agenda at his party's group meeting. Speaking on many topics from the economy to politics, Özel mentioned that Serap Yazıcı, who resigned from the Future Party just hours before the AK Party congress held in Ankara a few days ago and joined the AK Party on the day of the congress, had expressed her desire to join the CHP a few days prior.
"SHE CAME TO MY VISIT TO HER PARTY 3-4 DAYS AGO"
Özel described the situation with the following words:
"One of them resigned from her party just one day ago, 14 hours ago. When news broke that she was going to the AK Party, she tweeted in the afternoon, 'I resign as I see fit.' She came to my visit to her party three or four days before that, sat down, listened to me in the meeting, listened to the chairman of that party, she was in the delegation, and now she has gone to the AK Party.
"OBJECTION TO THE ONE-MAN REGIME IS NOT ENOUGH IN MY PARTY"
She went to our Antalya deputy. 'Objection to the one-man regime is not enough in my party. I want to switch to the Republican People's Party.' she said. They came to me together with our Antalya deputy. I told her, first, 'Your party has a group. Your resignation may cause your group to fall. Do not be the one to cause the group to fall. We are the party that gives deputies to that group to prevent it from falling.' Second, 'Even if you separate from your party, we cannot accept you without a long period passing. Because we are not a party that covets the deputy of another party.' Third, 'Even if you resign from that party, even if you express your intention to come to us, in the end, I have to make a phone call to the chairman of your party to inform him of this situation and discuss this matter.' I spoke in the presence of witnesses. This person left us and then went to the Justice and Development Party."
