Two adults and one child entered a kitchenware store inside a shopping mall in Başakşehir, Istanbul, and after purchasing a 'Labubu' toy, they left the store after stealing two more of the same product. The theft was captured by security cameras second by second.

The 'Labubu' toy craze, which is rapidly spreading worldwide, has turned into theft. Last Saturday in Istanbul, it was reported that two adults and one child came to a store selling kitchenware products in a shopping mall in Başakşehir.

THEY HID THEM UNDER THEIR COATS

The group, who approached the cash register and purchased one of the popular 'Labubu' toys, took advantage of the cashier's attention at that moment to hide the other two toys from the shelf under their coats and left the store.

The store owner, Barış Gündoğdu, noticed the situation after the incident and reviewed the security camera footage. In the footage, it was seen that the woman placed the toys she took from the shelf under her coat and left without being noticed.

"ITS POPULARITY MAY HAVE TEMPTED THEM"

Gündoğdu made a statement regarding the incident, saying: "I am a tradesman in Başakşehir, we are in the bijouterie business. Around 7:00 PM on Saturday, two adults and one child came to our store. They approached the cash register to buy the famous Labubu toy. While our friend was attending to them at the register, the lady stole the toys by placing them under her coat. We have filed a complaint, and we want them to be found as soon as possible. The toy's recent popularity may have tempted them, but we do not want this to happen again. What matters is not the money," he said.

It was learned that police teams have started working to identify and capture the suspects based on the security camera footage.
