The fuel price boards, closely monitored by vehicle owners, have changed again. INCREASE IN DIESEL PRICEThe increase of 1 lira and 47 kuruş in the price of diesel per liter has been reflected at the pump as of midnight. There was no change in the prices of gasoline and LPG. PRICE HIKES HAVE COME IN SUCCESSIONAs of January 1, a 6% increase in ÖTV was reflected at the pump, while in the same week, gasoline saw an increase of 1 lira and 27 kuruş, and diesel also had an increase of 1 lira. On January 8, there was a reduction of 49 kuruş in LPG prices. With the increases made today, diesel prices have approached the 50 lira threshold. CURRENT FUEL PRICES (January 16, 2025)In Istanbul, the average price of diesel per liter is sold at 47 lira and 24 kuruş, while the average price of gasoline per liter is 45 lira and 32 kuruş. In Ankara, the average price of gasoline per liter is 45 lira and 80 kuruş, and the price of diesel per liter is 47 lira and 88 kuruş. In Izmir, the average price of gasoline per liter is 46 lira and 17 kuruş, and the price of diesel per liter is 49 lira and 28 kuruş. HOW ARE FUEL PRICES CALCULATED?In Turkey, when calculating gasoline and diesel prices, the refinery sales price excluding VAT is found by adding ÖTV and EPDK shares to the duty-free refinery price. When calculating the Duty-Free Refinery Price, daily CIF Mediterranean product prices published in the Mediterranean-Italian market and the daily dollar exchange rate are monitored, and a duty-free refinery ceiling sales price is obtained with a certain price change difference.
