The Provincial Chairman of the Nationalist Movement Party in Osmaniye, Süleyman Özer, was detained for insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in his posts on social media platforms.
"WE ARE EXPECTING A DECISION OF NON-PROSECUTION"
In a statement, Özer's lawyer, Muhammet Güloğlu, said that his client is the provincial chairman of a political party and that his posts consist of political criticisms aimed at raising awareness among his party's base. Güloğlu also stated that they expect Özer to be released and a decision of non-prosecution to be made.
"WE WILL MAKE THE NECESSARY EXPLANATION"
Güloğlu, who added that the issuance of an arrest and detention order for Süleyman Özer, who could come immediately if called by phone, was not in accordance with the law, stated that they are pursuing the process and that Süleyman Özer will make the necessary explanation when he is released tomorrow.
