"MY FATHER WAS AN INTELLECTUAL REPRESENTING KOSOVO TURKS DURING THE ONE-PARTY PERIOD"

Fidan Brina Jilta stated that her father was an important figure representing the Kosovo Turkish community during the one-party period. Jilta said, "My father tried to keep his daughters away from politics, but I entered politics in 2009, continuing his legacy."

"WE ARE WORKING TO KEEP THE TURKISH COMMUNITY TOGETHER IN KOSOVO"

Emphasizing that one of their main goals is to keep the Kosovo Turkish community together, Jilta stated that they operate in a wide range of areas from education to employment. Highlighting the importance of Turkish education, Jilta said, "We have schools providing Turkish education from kindergarten to the last year of high school."

"IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO RECOVER AFTER THE WAR"

Referring to the war process and its aftermath in Kosovo, Jilta said, "We did not experience an open war; it was more like guerrilla warfare. NATO's intervention took longer than expected, and it was very difficult to recover after the war. Kosovo experienced a large migration, and this deeply affected our people."

"TURKEY'S SUPPORT GAVE CONFIDENCE TO THE PEOPLE OF KOSOVO"

Describing Turkey's support for Kosovo, Jilta stated, "Knowing that Turkey has always been by our side since NATO's intervention provides assurance to the people. When the Turkish military entered Kosovo, it provided the necessary support from infrastructure to education."

"WE CONTINUE TO CELEBRATE HOLIDAYS FROM THE OTTOMAN PERIOD"

Pointing out Kosovo's cultural heritage, Jilta noted that the Turkish community preserves traditions from the Ottoman period. "We still celebrate holidays from the Ottoman period. This is very valuable in terms of preserving our identity," she said.
