The President of the Turkey Pensioners Association (TÜED) Mamak Branch, Murat Tokgöz, requested the continuation of the bonus given to retirees last year due to the 100th anniversary of the Republic. In a written statement, Tokgöz noted that the 100th anniversary of the Republic was celebrated with enthusiasm across the country last year, recalling that a one-time payment of 5,000 lira was made to retirees as part of the 100th anniversary.
"THE REPUBLIC DAY BONUS SHOULD BE GIVEN EVERY YEAR"
Pointing out that the payment made helped meet the needs of many retirees, Tokgöz stated:
"Thanks to the payment of 5,000 lira made on Republic Day last year, many retirees entered the winter with an additional amount of money in hand. We demand that the bonus given to our retirees on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of our Republic be named 'Republic Day Bonus' and be given every year in the amount of one month's salary. This practice will greatly please millions of our retirees and contribute to their celebration of Republic Day with even more enthusiasm."
