The revenues generated from Turkey's bridges, highways, and tunnels have reached a record level. Throughout the year, the income from roads and bridges tripled compared to the previous year. The traffic fines, which were projected to be 20 billion TL, have exceeded 38 billion TL in 11 months.
According to the budget data announced by the General Directorate of Accounting, the revenues obtained from bridges, roads, and tunnels reached a record level this year. In the period from January to November 2024, these revenues were recorded as 1 billion 212 million TL. In the same period last year, this amount was 448 million 185 thousand TL.
RECORD INCREASE IN BRIDGE AND ROAD REVENUES
In the January-November period of 2024, the revenue from bridges, roads, and tunnels reached 1 billion 212 million TL. This indicates a 170% increase compared to the same period last year. The revenue from roads and bridges operated by the state tripled compared to the previous year.
OSMANGAZI AND YAVUZ SULTAN SELIM BRIDGES
With the increases made in August, the tolls for the Osmangazi Bridge increased by 200%, while the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge saw a 270% increase. Further increases are expected in 2025.
SUBSTANTIAL INCREASE IN TRAFFIC FINES
The revenue from traffic fines, which was 17 billion TL in 2023, exceeded 38 billion TL in 2024. A revenue of 67 billion TL from traffic fines is projected for 2025.
NEW TARIFF TO BE VALID IN 2025
In 2025, there will be a 43.93% increase in motor vehicle taxes, traffic fines, and other fees. Thus, the amount of money that will enter the Treasury from these fines and taxes will also increase by the same rate.
BRIDGES AND ROADS HAVE OFFICIALLY PRINTED MONEY
In recent years, bridge and road revenues have become an important source of income for the Treasury. From 2019 to 2024, revenues have shown a continuous increase.

• 2021: 98 million 675 thousand TL
• 2022: 219 million 976 thousand TL
• 2023: 563 million 335 thousand TL
• 2024 (January-November): 1 billion 212 million 699 thousand TL
