The salaries and pensions for civil servants and retirees are becoming clearer.

03.10.2024 12:30

With the announcement of the inflation data for September, attention has turned to the three-month inflation difference, which is critical for the increase in civil servant and pensioner salaries. So, what is the amount of this three-month inflation difference? How will the salary increase for civil servants and pensioners be determined based on the inflation difference for the year 2025?

According to the data shared by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), inflation was announced as 2.47% on a monthly basis in August. With the inflation data for September becoming clear, the 3-month inflation difference, which is decisive for the salary increase of civil servants and retirees, has also been determined.

THE 3-MONTH INFLATION IN CIVIL SERVANTS AND RETIREES' SALARY INCREASE HAS BECOME CLEAR

Accordingly; Monthly inflation was announced as 3.32% for July, 2.47% for August, and 2.97% for September. SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees have already obtained a salary increase difference of 8.92%. For civil servants to receive an inflation difference, an additional inflation of 0.99% needs to occur. Civil servants and retirees receive their salary increase twice a year, in January and July, along with the inflation difference.

MONTHLY INFLATION RATES

For July, it is 3.32%, for August it is 2.47%, and for September it is 2.97%. SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees have already obtained a salary increase difference of 8.92%. For civil servants to receive an inflation difference, an additional inflation of 0.99% needs to occur. This increase will be reflected in salaries in January 2025, and the monthly announced inflation rates will be calculated cumulatively.

HOW MUCH OF A SALARY INCREASE WILL BE MADE FOR CIVIL SERVANTS AND RETIREES?

Civil servants and retired civil servants receive an inflation difference in addition to the collective bargaining increase. As of the end of September, this difference has exceeded 8.92%. In January 2025, civil servants will also receive a 15% collective bargaining increase. However, the exact figure will be confirmed with the announcement of inflation data for October, November, and December.
