With the announcement of the December inflation by TÜİK, the increase for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees has been finalized at 12.19%, while the increase for civil servants and civil servant retirees has been set at 18.6%. The difference between the salaries of teachers and preachers at the 1/4 degree has sparked debate on social media.

According to the data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), inflation increased by 0.89% in December. The annual inflation rate was realized at 30.89%. With the announced figures, the salary increase rates for civil servants and retirees for January have also been finalized.

Since the base salary is below 16,881 TL, the monthly salary of retirees whose salaries are completed to this level will also rise to 18,937 TL with a 12.18% increase. However, for this increase to be directly applied, a legal regulation will need to be made in the Turkish Grand National Assembly.
