President Erdoğan announced good news for university students after the Cabinet meeting. INCREASE IN KYK SCHOLARSHIPS AND LOANS
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed the cameras after the Cabinet meeting and made statements. At the end of his announcement, Erdoğan gave good news to university students. He announced that they have increased the amounts of KYK scholarships and loans.
Erdoğan stated: "Since the first day we took office, we have been meticulously implementing the policy of not letting our workers, civil servants, and retirees be crushed by inflation, and we will continue this with the same sensitivity. In 2002, we were only providing 45 TL in scholarships and student loans to our students. We have increased this amount every year. We have always stood by our young brothers and sisters.
4,000 TL FOR UNDERGRADUATE, 8,000 TL FOR MASTER'S, 12,000 TL FOR DOCTORAL STUDENTS
We have provided support to a total of 1 million 518 thousand university students. Last year, we provided support of 34 billion 14 million TL. We were offering 3,000 TL for undergraduate students, 6,000 TL for master's students, and 9,000 TL for doctoral students as scholarships and student loans. By 2026, we are increasing these amounts by 33 percent, raising them to 4,000 TL for undergraduate students, 8,000 TL for master's students, and 12,000 TL for doctoral students."
