The scope of the requirement for no tax debt in public payments has been expanded.

Public administrations and revolving fund enterprises affiliated with these administrations will be required to request a document indicating the overdue debt status from the beneficiaries during payments exceeding 5,000 TL within the scope of payment or execution orders.

The "General Communiqué on Collection" prepared by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance Revenue Administration Presidency has been published in the Official Gazette.

With the communiqué, the scope of the requirement of not having any tax debt in payments to be made from the public has been expanded.

Under the Law on Public Financial Management and Control, public administrations subject to this law and revolving fund enterprises affiliated with these administrations will be required to request a document indicating the overdue debt status from the beneficiaries during payments over 5,000 Turkish Liras within the scope of court decisions and payment or execution orders of enforcement offices.

The said communiqué will come into effect on October 1st.

In addition, with the previous communiqué published in the Official Gazette on August 13th, a regulation was made to take into account not only taxes collected by tax offices but also all public receivables in the practice known as the "no tax debt" certificate in the public opinion.
