After the meteorological warnings for the Marmara Region, Bursa was hit by a southwesterly wind and heavy rain. Citizens experienced difficult moments due to the adverse weather conditions that have persisted since last night. The wind speed reached up to 103 km/h in Kestel, 84 km/h in Yıldırım, and 75 km/h in the city center. THE SEA AND LAND HAVE MERGEDWaves reached several meters high on the beach in the Kurşunlu neighborhood of Gemlik district. Due to the heavy rain, businesses located along the coastline where the sea met the land were flooded. The BUSKİ teams, affiliated with the Metropolitan Municipality, began the drainage operations for the waters along the coastline. In the Atlıçayır Boulevard of the Nilüfer district, the water accumulations caused by the heavy rain were drained with the intervention of municipal officials. RAINS WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE NIGHTThe heavy rain affecting the city has turned into snowfall in Uludağ. The meteorology department stated that the rains will continue throughout the night. In Uludağ, where the temperature dropped to minus 1 degree Celsius, the snowfall delighted the facilities and hotel owners preparing for the new season. TREES WERE UPROOTED, BUS STOP GLASS SHATTEREDDue to the southwesterly wind, trees fell onto the roads and parked vehicles. Debris falling from buildings scattered onto the roads, while a mobile waste clothing cabinet toppled onto a motorcycle and taxi in the Yıldırım Namazgah neighborhood. In the same district, the bus stop on Emniyet Street in Mimar Sinan neighborhood was uprooted by the wind, shattering its glass. In Sağlık Park, many trees and garbage containers were also toppled.
