The terrorist organization SDF, which has been given a deadline until the end of the year for integration into the Syrian army, is reportedly trying to extend the process until March 10, 2026, relying on Israel's support. The governments of Ankara and Damascus, closely monitoring the developments, are keeping all options on the table, including a joint operation.
"Terror-free Turkey" process commission report is awaited, while it is stated that the deadline foreseen in the agreement signed between the SDF and the Damascus administration on March 10 will expire at the end of the year.
THEY ARE RECEIVING SUPPORT FROM ISRAEL
Despite months passing since the agreement, no concrete progress has been made in the negotiations, and it is reported that the SDF, largely sidelining the Damascus administration, has frequently clashed with the army in northern Syria with the support of Israel in the last 9 months. According to a report in Türkiye Gazetesi, Ankara, which closely monitors the process, has sent consecutive clear messages to the SDF, while the organization is said to be trying to produce various justifications to prolong the process.

According to the information obtained, although it is clearly stated in the agreement text that the integration process must be completed by the end of this year at the latest, the SDF is attempting to extend the process until March 10, 2026, by claiming that "the duration of such agreements is one year."
TURKEY MAY TAKE CONCRETE STEPS
Despite the timeline foreseen in the agreement reached on March 10, it is stated that the SDF is not expected to achieve full integration with the army and other state institutions by the end of the year. However, Turkey emphasizes that concrete steps need to be taken before the end of the year.
ALL OPTIONS ARE ON THE TABLE
Following warnings from Ankara to "hurry up," it is noted that the SDF may aim to prolong the process by taking limited steps towards integration by December 31. It is recorded that Turkey and Syria are aware of the expectation of a regionally crisis supported by Israel behind the SDF, and therefore, they keep all options, including joint operations, on the agenda.
