Mehmet Ö., who rented a room in the house of a person named Ozan Uyar in Bursa for 4,000 lira, wanted to leave and take his money back due to being disturbed by the guests coming to the house. The landlord, Uyar, dressed Mehmet Ö. in women's underwear, made him dance to music, and shared the footage on social media. In the trial opened upon Mehmet Ö.'s complaint, two defendants were acquitted, while Ozan Uyar was sentenced to a total of 6 years and 6 months in prison, and his father and wife were each given 5 years in prison.

Mehmet Ö., who works in daily jobs in the Yenişehir district of Bursa, rented a room in Ozan Uyar's house in the Yıldırım district. After staying in the house for 3 days, Mehmet Ö. stated that he would leave the house, asking for his money, saying, "There are many guests coming here." The landlord Ozan Uyar, who said he had no cash, gave his tenant his mobile phone to sell in exchange for his debt.

According to the allegation; Ozan Uyar, 10 days later, called Mehmet Ö. to his home to 'make peace' along with his friends S.S. and V.K., tied his hands behind his back, and beat him with iron rods and sticks. Mehmet Ö., who was also beaten by Ozan Uyar's father Osman Uyar, who came down from the upper floor upon hearing the noise, was allegedly dressed in women's underwear from a bag by the landlord's wife Mine Uyar, who came to the house a day later. Mehmet Ö., who was made to dance to music and had his photos published on social media, was rescued by V.K.'s wife, who came home after seeing the post, and handed over to the police. Of the 5 suspects detained, landlord Ozan Uyar, V.K., and S.S. were arrested, while the other 2 suspects were released.

After the prosecutor's investigation, a case was filed against the 5 defendants at the Bursa 9th High Criminal Court for the crimes of 'Deprivation of Liberty' and 'Robbery at Night with Multiple Persons Using a Weapon.'

During the trial process, the detained defendants were released, and Mehmet Ö., who testified, said, "I work as a daily laborer. I agreed with Ozan, whom I met on the recommendation of a friend, to use a room in his house for 4,000 lira a month. The number of people coming and going was not clear. I was disturbed. I said I would leave on the 3rd day and asked for my money. He said he had no cash and gave me his mobile phone to sell. 10 days later, he called and said, 'I want to talk to you to make peace,' and invited me to his residence. I went. When I entered the house, he locked the door with his two friends and attacked me. They beat me mercilessly with an iron rod and a large stick. They beat me very badly. Since I knew the house, I said I needed to use the toilet. They allowed me. I shouted for help from the toilet ventilation shaft. I couldn't make my voice heard. Then they broke the door and pulled me out of the toilet. They tied me with a pig tie. They continued to torture me," he said.

"THEY HURT ME A LOT"

While giving his statement, Mehmet Ö. cried as he recounted his experiences, saying, "On the second day I stayed at the house, Ozan's father, who lives upstairs, came home and slapped me twice. Then his wife came to us, dressed me in women's underwear, made me dance to music, and took photos of me to share on social media. They hurt me a lot. V.K.'s wife, who saw the post on social media, came home, took me from their hands, and brought me to the police," he explained.

"HE CURSED ME AND MY WIFE"

Ozan Uyar, who did not accept the charges in court, stated that the complainant did not tell the truth, saying, "Mehmet Ö., to whom I rented a room in my house, stole my phone. Moreover, he cursed me and my wife. I only beat him," he said.

"WHEN I CAME HOME, HE WAS WEARING WOMEN'S UNDERWEAR"

Mine Uyar stated, "When I came home, the complainant was wearing women's underwear. I have nothing to do with the incident," during the hearing; while Osman Uyar and V.K. did not accept the charges against them, S.S.'s lawyer Canan Kongur stated that her client had nothing to do with this matter. Lawyer Kongur said, "My client was definitely not present in the environment when the complainant was beaten, when he was dressed in women's underwear, and when he was photographed. I request his acquittal," she defended.

FAMILY SENTENCE

After the trial, the court panel sentenced Ozan Uyar, who was already detained for another crime, to a total of 6 years and 6 months in prison for 'Deprivation of Liberty,' 'Robbery at Night with Multiple Persons Using a Weapon,' and 'Possession of an Unlicensed Weapon,' while giving 5 years each to his wife and father.
