MEN CAN ALSO RECEIVE IT

With the new regulation, the right to widow's pension, which has so far only been available to women, has now been granted to men as well. This regulation aims to strengthen gender equality in access to social security.

HOW TO APPLY?

Men who wish to benefit from the widow's pension can apply to the nearest SGK office with the necessary documents. In the applications made, the insurance status of the deceased spouse and other personal information will be examined in detail.

WHAT ARE THE NECESSARY CONDITIONS?

After the regulation, the application conditions and monthly amounts have also come to the agenda. To benefit from the widow's pension, it is required that the deceased spouse has paid at least 1,800 days of premiums. Those who meet this condition can apply for the widow's pension. There is no age limit for applications. However, the conditions may vary depending on the number of premium payment days and the insurance duration of the deceased spouse.

HOW IS IT CALCULATED?

The widow's pension, determined by considering the salary and insurance status of the deceased spouse, pays a certain percentage of the spouse's salary to the surviving spouse. For example, when a working man's wife passes away, the surviving woman receives 50% of her husband's salary. The insurance status of the spouse (SSK, Bağ-Kur, Retirement Fund) also affects the salary calculation. Additionally, the number of premium payment days and the insurance duration of the insured are factors that influence the amount of the pension.
