The son of the professor, who was found dead in a barrel with his hands and feet tied, has been arrested.

In the incident where the body found in the landfill in Mersin belonged to retired faculty member Prof. Dr. Selahattin Doludeniz from Selçuk University, his son Oğuz Doludeniz has been arrested. It is alleged that Oğuz Doludeniz had a strained relationship with his father and left the body in the landfill.

On the morning of the previous day, municipal workers who went to the landfill in Ustalar Mahallesi in Bozyazı district found the naked male body with hands and feet tied in a plastic barrel. Upon notification, gendarmerie and police teams were dispatched to the scene. The body, which was determined to have started to decompose in the initial examination, was taken to the morgue of Mersin Forensic Medicine Institute. In the autopsy, it was determined that the body belonged to Prof. Dr. Selahattin Doludeniz, a retired faculty member from Selçuk University.

SON ARRESTED

Teams that initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident reached Oğuz Doludeniz, the son of the retired professor. Doludeniz was detained due to conflicting statements. The suspect, who was referred to the courthouse, was arrested by the duty judge. It was learned that Oğuz Doludeniz stated that he had temporarily left home because of the strained relationship with his father and when he returned, he found his father's body in a bin and left it in the garbage area in Bozyazı by taxi.

Meanwhile, in the initial examination of the body, no traces of a piercing or cutting tool were found, and it was stated that the cause of Selahattin Doludeniz's death will be determined after the forensic examination.
