In the Etimesgut district of Ankara, a dispute over yielding in traffic escalated, and a person identified as a police officer was captured on camera threatening a large crowd by pulling out a pistol.
HE RESORTED TO A PISTOL AND A STICK
The incident occurred on İsmet İnönü Street in the Süvari neighborhood during the night. A dispute between two drivers over yielding in traffic turned into a fight. The driver, taking a pistol and a stick from his vehicle, advanced toward the people in the other car. The scuffle was recorded on a mobile phone. In the footage, the person holding the pistol can be heard saying, 'I am a police officer anyway.'
HE WAS SUSPENDED FROM DUTY
Upon the report, police teams were dispatched to the scene. The individual who made the threat with a weapon was taken to the police station in a patrol vehicle. In a statement from the Ankara Police Department regarding the incident, it was stated, 'A judicial and administrative investigation has been initiated regarding the incident that occurred on June 13, 2026, in the Etimesgut district, in which a police officer was involved. The relevant personnel have been suspended from duty, and the matter is being meticulously examined from all aspects.'
