A 65-year-old man in Konya, who had his wife remove a tick attached to his body, fell ill shortly after. However, the unfortunate man concealed this information from the doctors at the first two hospitals he visited. When his condition worsened, he confessed the truth at the third hospital he was transferred to, but despite all interventions, he could not be saved and died.
D.D., 65, living in Izmir, went with his wife to his hometown, Kayabaşı Neighborhood in Beyşehir district of Konya, to spend the summer.
WENT TO TWO HOSPITALS, HID IT FROM DOCTORS, TOLD THE THIRD
After a while, D.D. fell ill and first applied to Derebucak State Hospital, then to Beyşehir State Hospital, but according to allegations, he did not tell healthcare workers about the 'tick bite' incident he experienced there.
Due to the seriousness of his condition, D.D. was referred to Necmettin Erbakan University Medical Faculty Hospital, where it was learned that he told doctors a tick had attached to his body in his home's garden, and his wife had removed the tick.
COULD NOT BE SAVED
Upon this information, D.D. was treated in the intensive care unit under suspicion of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), but could not be saved despite all interventions by doctors. D.D.'s body, collected by his family, was buried in Kayabaşı Neighborhood, where he was born and raised.
