Spanish footballer Hugo Mallo has been found guilty of sexual assault against Espanyol's 'lovebird' female mascot and has been sentenced to pay 10 euros per day for a period of 20 months.
The judge of the 19th Criminal Court of Barcelona announced the sentence regarding the crime committed by the former Celta captain against the person who served as Espanyol's mascot at the RCDE Stadium on April 24, 2019.
SEXUAL ASSAULT AGAINST FEMALE MASCOT
Spanish footballer Hugo Mallo was tried for sexual assault for touching the breasts of a woman who worked as a mascot disguised as a parakeet during the greeting before the match between Espanyol and Celta de Vigo at the RCDE Stadium in April 2019.
WILL PAY 10 EUROS PER DAY FOR 20 MONTHS
The court found Hugo Mallo guilty of sexual assault for touching the breasts of the woman dressed as a bird mascot without her consent.
Hugo Mallo, who currently plays for the Greek team Aris Thessaloniki, was sentenced to pay a fine of 10 Euros per day for 20 months for sexual assault. The court also ordered an additional payment of 1,000 Euros to the victim and for Hugo Mallo to cover all the expenses of the legal process. The total penalty imposed on Hugo Mallo will exceed 6,000 Euros.
