The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 13,902 points, up 0.08 percent. The index, which closed the previous day with a 0.60 percent gain, saw the securities investment partnership sector as the biggest gainer. In global markets, developments regarding US-Iran tensions and the diplomatic process are being closely monitored. Analysts noted that investors are focusing today on the New York Fed consumer confidence index and Dallas Fed manufacturing data.
The BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 13,902.62 points, up 0.08 percent.
The BIST 100 index, which followed a buying-weighted trend yesterday, completed the day at 13,890.91 points, gaining 0.60 percent. The index rose by 11.71 points compared to the previous close at today's opening.
The banking index lost 0.19 percent, while the holding index lost 0.03 percent.
SECURITIES INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP PROVIDED THE HIGHEST GAIN
Among sector indices, the highest gainer was securities investment partnership with 1.33 percent. The sector that declined the most was food and beverage with 0.24 percent.
US-IRAN TENSION MONITORED IN MARKETS
In global markets, expectations that an agreement could be reached between the US and Iran continue, while the resumption of US attacks on Iran has led markets to cautious optimism.
The US attacks on Iran once again revealed the fragile nature of the diplomatic process between the parties. Iranian media reported that explosion sounds were heard in Sirik and Jask regions after Bandar Abbas.
Despite optimistic messages that tensions on the US-Iran front could ease and the Strait of Hormuz could reopen, the lack of a concrete agreement increases uncertainty regarding the course of oil prices.
EYES ON US DATA
Analysts stated that the domestic data agenda is calm today, while abroad, the New York Fed consumer confidence index and the Dallas Fed manufacturing index data will be monitored.
Technically, in the BIST 100 index, levels of 14,000 and 14,100 are resistance, while levels of 13,800 and 13,700 points are support.
