Scenes of violence against women in Turkish TV series have become the subject of research. The results of the study conducted by KADEM revealed striking statistics regarding violence against women in these series. The research examined the 14 most popular series broadcast on television and digital platforms during the 2023-2024 season. A total of 3,013 scenes of violence against women were identified. The series with the highest number of scenes of violence against women per episode was "Kızıl Goncalar."

While Turkish series continue their global success with exports to over 170 countries, they have a controversial reality behind the scenes. In particular, the widespread portrayal of violence and the societal effects created by negative subtexts draw attention. According to a news article in Türkiye newspaper, a research titled "Violence Against Women in Media and Viewer Awareness: A Study on Local Series" examined the 14 most popular series broadcast on television and digital platforms during the 2023-2024 broadcast season.

The research, conducted by KADEM and announced to the public at a press conference held at the Sepetçiler Pavilion, revealed that a total of 3,013 scenes of violence against women were identified in these series. According to the research, an average of seven scenes of violence were found in episodes of digital platform series, while television series had an average of nine scenes.

In the research, the production with the highest intensity of violence against women among TV series was "Kızıl Goncalar," with 21 scenes of violence per episode. It was followed by "İnci Taneleri" with 20 scenes and "Yalı Çapkını" with 17 scenes. When the examined violence scenes were classified by type, psychological violence emerged as the most common type, accounting for 51%.
