The future of 17-year-old young central defender Egehan Şensoy, who drew attention with his performance in the Konyaspor youth academy and was expected to be promoted to the first team, ended with a single post on social media. The young talent, who played 20 official matches in the U19 league this season and scored 2 goals, shared a childhood photo of himself wearing a Galatasaray jersey on his personal social media account. Under the image, Şensoy wrote the note "We used to dream with tulle and veils," quickly becoming a trending topic on social media. Following the post, the Konyaspor community took action, stating that the share did not align with the values represented by the club, and terminated the contract of 17-year-old Egehan Şensoy.

"In recent days, the posts regarding our player Egehan Şensoy that have been reflected in the public and the sensitivity arising from these posts have been carefully evaluated by our club.
As the Konyaspor Football Academy, we prioritize commitment to the unifying power of sports, respect, the spirit of fair play, social responsibility, and the deep-rooted values of our club. In line with this understanding, the public sensitivity has been taken into account, and it has been concluded that the situation is inconsistent with the values our club represents.
Therefore, the relationship between our player Egehan Şensoy and the Konyaspor Football Academy has been terminated.
The Konyaspor Football Academy, as it has done so far, will continue its approach that prioritizes not only sporting success but also character, discipline, moral responsibility, and exemplary athlete identity with determination.
