The Supreme Election Council rejected the request to annul the CHP's 21st Extraordinary Congress, which was held on Sunday, April 6. CHP academician Kemal Çiftçi had applied for the cancellation of the congress and requested that it be held again.
The Supreme Election Council (YSK) rejected the application for the annulment of the CHP's 21st Extraordinary Congress held on April 6, 2025.
THE APPLICATION WAS MADE BY KEMAL ÇİFTÇİ
CHP academician Kemal Çiftçi had applied to the Çankaya District Election Board for the annulment and re-holding of the CHP's 21st Extraordinary Congress held on April 6, 2025. The Çankaya 4th District Election Board rejected the objection regarding the annulment of the election.
DETAILS THAT STAND OUT IN THE DISTRICT ELECTION BOARD'S DECISION
In the District Election Board's decision, it was stated that the candidate lists of the CHP's 21st Extraordinary Congress were finalized by the Presidential Board, and delivered to the election board to be sealed and turned into ballots, including the General Chairman, Party Assembly, Science Culture Art Platform, and the High Disciplinary Board.
The decision stated, "The claims related to the candidacy application of the applicant Kemal Çiftçi fall under the authority of the Presidential Board of the mentioned political party's 21st Extraordinary Congress, and it was necessary to reject the objection due to Çiftçi's failure to substantiate the other claims mentioned in his petition with any evidence or document."
THE APPLICATION REACHED YSK
Following the request for the annulment of the Çankaya District Presidency's rejection decision due to "complete unlawfulness and the request for the election to be renewed," the application reached YSK. YSK decided to reject the request due to the "finality" of the Çankaya 4th District Election Board's decision and the absence of any complete unlawfulness.
