In İzmir, in 2018, Dorukhan Büyükışık was found dead at a construction site; in the case file, the crime scene investigation team commissioner who returned from abroad was detained and arrested. Previously, 24 people had been arrested in connection with the incident.

A suspect who was detained in connection with the death of 26-year-old Dorukhan Büyükışık, found dead at a construction site in İzmir 8 years ago, has been arrested.

DETAINED AT THE AIRPORT AND ARRESTED

Regarding the discovery of Büyükışık's body at a construction site in Narlıdere district on May 13, 2018, suspect A.K., who had an arrest warrant and was abroad, arrived at İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport.

A.K., who served as the crime scene investigation team commissioner at the time of the incident, was detained by Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams.

After processing, the suspect was referred to the courthouse and arrested by the judge.

DORUKHAN'S LIFELESS BODY WAS FOUND AT THE CONSTRUCTION SITE

On May 13, 2018, in İzmir's Narlıdere district, Dorukhan Büyükışık's lifeless body was found at a construction site, and the incident was initially assessed as suicide.

Within the scope of the investigation, upon the family's complaint, an indictment was prepared against the police officers who arrived at the scene on charges of "misconduct in office" and accepted by the 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance. Additionally, an indictment was prepared demanding aggravated life imprisonment for security guards H.K., H.A., T.Ç. working at the site, construction worker B.Ç., and nearby site guard A.G. on charges of "intentional murder."

24 SUSPECTS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED

On October 10, 2025, the trial at İzmir 2nd Criminal Court of First Instance, where 8 police officers were being tried on charges of "misconduct in office," was merged with the trial of 5 construction workers being tried at İzmir 21st Heavy Penal Court.

Regarding Büyükışık's death, a 4-person special investigation team formed under the chairmanship of the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor re-examined the case file, and on May 21, arrest warrants were issued for 26 suspects on charges of "intentional murder," "destroying, hiding, or altering crime evidence," and "false testimony."

Among them, 24 suspects, including the then District Police Chief İ.Y. and construction company partners M.M.T. (69) and his son M.T.T. (43), were arrested, while efforts continue to capture the remaining 2 suspects.
