The murder suspect of two sisters who were shot dead in their homes in the Nusaybin district of Mardin has taken his own life in the prison where he was held.

In the Nusaybin district of Mardin, Sümeyye Khaled Abira (41) and her sister Süheyla Özdaş (44), who were shot dead in their homes, were found dead by the murder suspect Muhiddin Bağlan (59), who took his own life in the prison where he was held in Diyarbakır.

SISTERS FOUND DEAD IN THEIR HOMES

The incident occurred on January 4 in Aram Street, 8 Mart Neighborhood of Nusaybin district. Upon a tip-off to the 112 Emergency Call Center, police and medical teams were dispatched to the address. The teams that entered the house found Sümeyye Khaled Abira, a Syrian national, and her sister Süheyla Özdaş shot and motionless. It was determined by the medical personnel that the sisters had lost their lives. After the examination of the crime scene, the bodies were taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy procedures. The sisters' bodies were buried in their homeland.

SÜMEYYE WAS LIVING WITH A RELIGIOUS MARRIAGE

After the incident, a special team was formed by the Provincial Security Directorate. The security cameras of the City Security Management System (KGYS) throughout the district and the security cameras of the houses and businesses along the route were examined. It was determined that the suspect was Muhiddin Bağlan, with whom Sümeyye Khaled Abira was living in a religious marriage. Bağlan, a truck driver, was captured and taken into custody during the operation. After his procedures, Bağlan was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court.

HE HANGED HIMSELF IN PRISON

Last night, Muhiddin Bağlan hanged himself in the Diyarbakır Penitentiary Institution where he was staying. After the officials noticed, Bağlan was taken down from where he was found, and it was determined that he had died. Bağlan's body was buried in Hacılar Cemetery in Nusaybin district after the autopsy procedures. An investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
