Fenerbahçe's head coach Domenico Tedesco made statements at the press conference held after the match, discussing the future of Youssef En-Nesyri. The Italian coach, who announced that he would speak with En-Nesyri, said, "He is coming to Istanbul this evening, and I will see him tomorrow. I have no information about the transfer. He is my player right now."
Fenerbahçe lost 1-0 to the English team Aston Villa at home in the 7th week of the UEFA Europa League. After the match, Fenerbahçe's head coach Domenico Tedesco made statements at the press conference.
'WE WANTED TO GET 3 POINTS FOR THE TOP 8'
Domenico Tedesco expressed that they fight in every match and will continue to do so, saying, 'Not just physically. We do this in every match all the time. If we are not fighting, there is no reason to wake up in the morning. We want to fight in every match. Especially in every match we play in the Super League, we need to fight. Today we controlled the ball, created positions. Our opponent also created positions. They were expecting more counterattacks today. We cannot change the identity of our team. We enjoy playing this way. We watched 6-7 matches of our opponent. No one created as many positions against them as we did. We should not be happy with this result. We wanted to get 3 points for the top 8. We will play our last match in Bucharest. We have a limited list. Matteo and Musaba are not on the list.'
'YOUSEF IS OUR PLAYER'
When asked about Youssef En Nesyri's future in the team, Tedesco said, 'Youssef is our player. As always, I will not comment on transfer rumors. He is coming to Istanbul this evening, I will see him tomorrow. I have no information about the transfer. Right now, he is my player.'
'HE COULD PLAY FOR 35-45 MINUTES'
Emphasizing that they continued with a 4-man system after Yiğit Efe Demir came into the game, the 40-year-old coach also spoke about Talisca, saying, 'Actually, we did not play with a 3-man defense today. Efe looks like a center-back because he is a center-back. He played in the right-back position. We are showing a flexible formation. Efe played like a normal full-back. We played in a 4-2-3-1 formation. We are using our 6s flexibly. Semedo was in a condition to play for about 45-60 minutes due to coming back from injury. We could not take the risk with him. If his injury recurs, he could end the season. Hopefully, his playing time will increase in the upcoming matches. We had no chance to start with Talisca today. He also had an injury. The time he could play today was 35-45 minutes.'
'WE WANTED TO MAKE AN OFFENSIVE DECISION'
When asked about the decision to substitute İsmail Yüksek for Edson Alvarez, Tedesco said, 'This decision was not made against İsmail. Alvarez had also experienced a 6-week injury. It was difficult to decide whether Fred or İsmail would come out. Fred is good at going at the opponent with the ball. We wanted to make a slightly more offensive decision. We wanted to continue with a player who has more playmaking characteristics. The decision could have been the opposite as well.'
'FINISHING IN THE TOP 8 WOULD BE BETTER FOR US'
Tedesco stated that it would be good for them to enter the top 8, but if they could not, it would not be a problem, saying, 'I do not know the standings right now. No matter what, we want to win our last match. If we can finish in the top 8, we will advance one round. Finishing in the top 8 would be better for us. We have a tough schedule. If we cannot advance that round, we will play one more match in front of our fans at home.'
