Due to a lid defect, the world-famous thermos brand initiated a replacement process, but three months later, Hamza A. has not received a new lid. A young man who contacted the Haberler.com WhatsApp Tip Line stated that he had to use the thermos during the holiday, resulting in serious burns on his arm due to hot coffee spilling.
The world-famous thermos brand has decided to recall 2.6 million travel thermoses worldwide due to a manufacturing defect in the lid and has also received applications from consumers in Turkey. However, the delay experienced during this process has turned into a serious health issue for one consumer.
PAID 2 THOUSAND LIRA, NEW LID DID NOT ARRIVE FOR MONTHS
Hamza A., who reached out to the WhatsApp Tip Line of Haberler.com, stated that he purchased a thermos for approximately 2 thousand lira last year and applied to the brand for a lid replacement on March 15. The young man claimed that despite the 6-8 week delivery time specified by the company, the new lid had not reached him even after 3 months.
SEVERE BURN ON HIS ARM
The consumer, who had to use his thermos during the holiday, placed it in the side pocket of his backpack. The individual reported that hot coffee splashed onto his right arm, causing a severe burn, and stated that he would obtain a legal report due to the burn that occurred from his armpit to his elbow and would take the matter to court.
"MY HOLIDAY WAS POISONED"
Hamza A. expressed, "Should I be upset that my holiday was poisoned, or should I be sad that I experienced this in a thermos sold as the highest quality in the market for thousands of lira? It has been months, and a so-called long-established company founded in 1857 cannot change a lid. I will now seek my rights through legal means. I will obtain the necessary health report today and apply to the court. I will pursue my rights in all authorities."
