Mardin was filled with local and foreign tourists during the Eid al-Adha. The President of the Mardin Tourism and Hoteliers Association, Gürgör, stated, "We have many day-trippers, and our hotels are completely full. Guests who cannot find accommodation are staying in nearby places and coming to explore the city."
The historical and registered structures of Mardin, where people from different religions, languages, and cultures live together in tolerance, have attracted attention, and as in every season of the year, it has also become a preferred destination for tourists during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Domestic and foreign tourists visiting the city showed great interest in mosques, madrasas, and churches. Long queues sometimes formed at the ancient city of Dara, located 30 kilometers away from the city center. The occupancy rate in hotels with a capacity of 22,000 beds in the city reached 100%. MARTOD President Özgür Gürgör expressed their satisfaction with the tourist density, stating, "Our guests really liked Mardin. Everyone felt a piece of themselves here. Mardin is a city of languages and religions. Right now, you can easily hear 4-5 different languages in the market. Turkish, Kurdish, Arabic, English, and Syriac, among others. Eid al-Adha is very busy in Mardin. We have many day-trippers, and our hotels are completely full. Guests who cannot find a place are staying in nearby areas and coming to explore the city. We are also working to provide them with the best service possible," he said.
