The 59th ordinary general assembly meeting of Trabzonspor was held at the Kadir Özcan Facilities. The meeting was attended by Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Metin Genç, Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan, board members, and many council members. After a moment of silence and the reading of the National Anthem, the activity report of the council presidency and the audit committee report were read.
'I COULD HAVE BEEN HERE HAVING WON ALL THE MATCHES' Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan stated that they started the season well but experienced point losses due to some misfortunes and incorrect referee decisions, saying, "Today, I could have been here as a president who has won all the matches, but we are 5 points behind due to some intentional referee decisions. We have a young team and coaching staff. I would like to thank Fatih Tekke and his team very much. With the support of our fans, we will be much stronger," he said.
'OUR DEBT IS AT THE LEVEL OF 2 BILLION 850 MILLION TL' President Doğan stated that with the addition of the income from the sale of goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır to Galatasaray, Trabzonspor's debt is approximately at the level of 2 billion 850 million TL. Doğan said, "This debt includes future transfer payments as well. Other clubs' debts are approaching 30 billion TL. We can keep it at this level with the right steps. In the season we became champions, our team budget was 35 million Euros, while the second-placed team's was 40 million Euros. Now we are competing with budgets 8 times larger," he evaluated.
'HAS FOUGHT THE BATTLE OF LABOR AGAINST MONEY' Ertuğrul Doğan emphasized that the club has maintained its competitive power in an increasingly difficult economic environment in football, stating, "The gap has widened, and it is essential to understand where we are very well. Trabzonspor will always compete; it has always 'fought the battle of labor against money,'" he said. Doğan noted that they are carrying out significant projects to ensure the club generates permanent income, stating, "Unfortunately, investments that Trabzonspor can take steps financially have not been made for 25-30 years. This is a reality of our club. With the contributions of our esteemed President, we have acquired 4 important lands, and we are working on the fifth. Şenol Güneş has acted as a big brother to us during this process and provided great support. We have rarely seen such support," he expressed.
President Doğan stated that they will share the details of the projects at the financial congress to be held in December, saying, "With these projects, we will take steps to provide permanent income to Trabzonspor. However, we will not sell these lands in any way," he said.
'TRABZONSPOR'S DEBT ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED IN 3-4 MONTHS' Ertuğrul Doğan stated that they are on the right track economically, saying, "Trabzonspor must both produce and sell, as well as develop new projects to compete with its rivals. If there are no setbacks, our club will not have any debt-related issues within the next 3-4 months," he evaluated.
