While passing under the Atatürk Bridge in Haliç, Istanbul, a crew member on a tour boat that hit a bridge pier lost his balance and fell into the sea. Surface and underwater search efforts are ongoing to find the missing crew member.

FELL FROM THE BOAT INTO THE SEA

The incident occurred around 10:30 near the Fatih Atatürk Bridge. According to information obtained, the tour boat named "Hero," under the command of Mehmet P., was sailing from Haliç towards Eminönü when it hit a bridge pier while passing under the Atatürk Bridge. Due to the impact, boat crew member Yasin Konya (32), who was at the front of the boat, lost his balance and fell into the sea.

BOAT CREW MEMBER NOT FOUND

Upon notification, teams from the Harbor Branch Directorate and the Coast Guard Command were dispatched to the scene. The teams, which have launched a large-scale search operation in the area, continue their efforts on the surface and underwater with the help of divers.
