A Polish tourist who harassed a female customer in a supermarket in Bangkok has been arrested. Security camera footage shows the tourist quietly approaching the woman and harassing her.
According to a report by Thaiger, the woman, who was examining the supermarket shelves at the time, initially thought her friend was joking. However, she was shocked to find an unfamiliar man when she turned around. The woman reported feeling embarrassed after the incident due to the stares of other customers and staff, and she filed a complaint with the police.
The suspect, whose identity was determined from the security camera footage, was caught through the staff of the building where he was staying. The Polish tourist admitted his crime, stating, "I touched her hip. I have done this many times in nightclubs, and no one complained. This is not a crime."
Seeing that the attacker showed no remorse, the woman decided to file a lawsuit. It was noted that the tourist, arrested under Article 278 of the Penal Code, could face up to 10 years in prison and a fine of 200 baht, or both.
