In Bağcılar, a person who introduced himself as a police officer forcibly demanded the right of way from two drivers. The individual threatened one of the drivers by saying, "I am a security officer, I will pull you out and beat you up." He was apprehended by police teams.
On January 29, on a street in the Barbaros neighborhood of Bağcılar district in Istanbul, a person was driving their car on a one-lane street when a car came from the opposite direction. While there was no room for two vehicles to pass on the street, another vehicle approached behind the oncoming car.
"I'LL TURN YOU INTO POTATOES"
The person who got out of the vehicle demanded the right of way from the drivers of the two cars in front. The individual, who identified himself as a police officer, showed his ID to the driver and threatened, "I'll take you down and turn you into potatoes." The incident was captured on a mobile phone camera second by second.
FAKE POLICE ARRESTED
Following the footage shared on social media, the Istanbul Police Department teams launched an investigation. In the conducted operations, the identity information of the suspect was determined from the license plate of the vehicle used. The individual named T.T., who was also found not to be a police officer, was arrested. After the completion of the procedures at the police station, the suspect was released by the judicial authorities to which he was referred.
