The third hearing in the case regarding the murder of factory worker Cengiz Akkurt, a father of five, who was shot with a shotgun in the middle of the street in Gaziantep, took place. Melisa Sakine A., who was heard as a witness, stated that the victim had harassed her while she was in the 4th grade, saying, "Later, I was raped by the victim. After that, I got engaged. I didn't tell my fiancé anything. However, the victim continued to harass me. I then told my fiancé about this situation. But my fiancé did not intend to kill him. He wanted to warn him."

The trial regarding the murder of Cengiz Akkurt, a factory worker and father of 5, who was shot dead with a shotgun in the middle of the street in Gaziantep, was held at the Gaziantep 1st Heavy Criminal Court. In the hearing, the defendants Uğur K., Muhammet Enes K., their lawyers, the victim's family, the victim's family lawyers, and witnesses were present.

During the hearing, the detained defendant Muhammet Enes K. stated, "I cannot go to my job. I am in a difficult financial situation. I request my release." The other detained defendant Uğur K. said he trusted the justice system.

Witness Melisa Sakine A. stated, "The victim is my relative. I was in the 4th grade. The victim was harassing me. Later, I told my school counselor about what happened. I went to the police station with my family and filed a complaint. However, since we are relatives, I withdrew the complaint. I was sexually abused by the victim. Later, I got engaged. I didn't tell my fiancé anything. However, the victim continued his harassment. I told my fiancé about this situation. But my fiancé did not intend to kill him. He wanted to warn him. The victim did not listen to him. My fiancé's intention was not to kill."

The prosecution requested the continuation of the detention of each of the defendants separately. The court panel decided to continue the detention of the defendants on the grounds of addressing the missing issues and postponed the hearing to a later date.

HE WAS KILLED WITH A SHOTGUN ON THE STREET

On the evening of February 8, in the Seyrantepe neighborhood of Şehitkamil district in Gaziantep, Cengiz Akkurt (53), a factory worker and father of 5, was attacked with a shotgun while walking on the street. Akkurt, who was seriously injured, died despite all the interventions at the private hospital he was taken to.

Following the incident, teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Public Security Branch Directorate, which initiated an investigation, captured and detained 2 suspects identified as having carried out the attack. It was determined that the suspects used a vehicle with twin license plates during their escape and changed the wheel covers of the vehicle after the incident. A shotgun used in the attack was seized during the searches. The suspects were arrested by the court they were brought before.
