An IETT driver operating on the Esenler-Avcılar line tested positive for 1.5 per mille alcohol during a check conducted following passenger complaints. The driver, who was taken into custody due to the complaints, was fined 25,000 lira.
An İETT public bus driver operating the Esenler-Avcılar route was found to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver, who mixed up the stops and deviated from the route, was caught following complaints from passengers.
The incident occurred around 8:30 PM yesterday. The mistakes made by the driver during the ride and his deviation from the route drew the attention of the passengers. Suspicious passengers reported the situation to the IETT Operations Office after the trip.
FOUND TO BE 1.5 PER MIL ALCOHOLIC
Teams that acted upon the tip-off relayed the situation to the police. During the inspection conducted by the Traffic Inspection Department of the Avcılar Police Department, it was determined that the driver F.G. had a blood alcohol level of 1.5 per mil. While the detained driver was taken to the police station, he was fined 25,000 lira.
BUS TOWED TO IMPOUND LOT
After the incident, the public bus was towed to the impound lot under police supervision. The vehicle owner was also informed about the situation. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
