THEY SEARCHED FOR YEARS FOR BRIDES TO MARRY TWINS
Akhil Thomas, one of the grooms, said that the coming together of four twins at the wedding was no coincidence. Akhil's twin brother, Nikhil Thomas, stated that their families had been searching for suitable brides for about three years.
The 32-year-old twin brothers were noted to be at an age considered relatively late for marriage in the region.
Akhil recounted that because they had reached their 30s, relatives warned them to find twin spouses. He said relatives even told them that if they did not agree to marry non-twin women, they might never get married at all.
The family applied to a marriage agency that specifically served twins, hoping to find suitable brides for their sons.
THEY MET NEARLY 40 TWIN COUPLES
Akhil said they met with nearly 40 pairs of twin sisters over the few years before meeting Magi and Maria Mary.
As fate would have it, it turned out that 31-year-old Magi and Maria also wanted to marry twins.
Magi stated that during their childhood, they decided they would marry twins if they were to get married, and said that when they met Akhil and Nikhil, they immediately liked them.
Maria, on the other hand, expressed that they decided Akhil and Nikhil would be their life partners.
TWIN PRIESTS CONDUCTED THE WEDDING
The sisters wanted their wedding ceremony to be conducted by twins.
This idea came about when Magi and Maria saw twin church officials Jeron and Johan James at a church meeting last year. After the decision to marry was made, the couple contacted the brothers and invited them to the ceremony.
Akhil's mother had also met twin priests Antho and Ajo Perumkattil at a church prayer meeting a few months earlier. Subsequently, the priests were contacted and consulted about conducting the wedding.
