The first meeting in the nuclear negotiations that brought the U.S. and Iran back to the table after 8 months has concluded. Iranian state television reported that the negotiations held in Muscat, the capital of Oman, have "temporarily" ended and that delegations from both countries are expected to return to their respective countries.
The first session of the nuclear negotiations between the United States and Iran, which has drawn the attention of the entire world, has concluded.
IRAN: NEGOTIATIONS COMPLETED, DELEGATIONS WILL RETURN TO THEIR COUNTRIES
As part of the contacts conducted under the mediation of Oman, the parties met in the capital Muscat, hosted by Oman's Foreign Minister Bedr bin Hamed al-Busaidi. Leading the negotiations on behalf of Iran was Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, while the U.S. delegation was headed by Steve Witkoff, the Special Representative for the Middle East appointed by U.S. President Donald Trump.
In the talks, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs Hamid Kanberi, and Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Bakayi were also present. On the U.S. side, alongside Witkoff, Jared Kushner, the son-in-law and advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, was also present.
According to Iranian state television, the U.S.-Iran talks, which began around 11:00 AM Turkish time in Muscat, Oman, have concluded, and the Iranian negotiation team has returned to their residences. An Iranian state television reporter stated that Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ismail Bakayi reported that the talks have "temporarily" ended and that the delegations of the two countries are expected to return to their countries.
