FIREWORKS AND WISH BALLOONS BANNED IN ELAZIĞ

With the increase in forest fires across Turkey and the impact of the heat wave, the Elazığ Provincial Forest Fire Fighting Commission has made a new precautionary decision. In a statement made by the Elazığ Governorship, it was announced that the use of flammable materials such as fireworks and wish balloons has been banned throughout the province due to the increased risk of fire.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNORSHIP

The statement said, "Due to the increase in forest fires across our country and the seasonal temperatures that are increasing their impact in our region, new measures have been taken by the Elazığ Provincial Forest Fire Fighting Commission in accordance with the Decision dated 01.07.2025 and numbered 2025/2. According to meteorological data, significant increases in air temperatures, decreases in humidity, and adverse conditions such as strong winds that increase the risk of fire are expected in the coming days. In this regard, in order to prevent forest fires, the use and sale of flammable materials such as fireworks and wish balloons that may cause fire in weddings, celebrations, entertainment, and similar organizations, or for any purpose, have been banned throughout our province," it was stated.

In the continuation of the statement, it was noted, "This decision has been evaluated within the framework of the Forest Law No. 6831, the Environmental Law No. 2872, the Turkish Penal Code No. 5271, and the Misdemeanor Law No. 5326, and administrative and judicial actions will be taken by the relevant institutions against those who do not comply with the ban. Our citizens are expected to comply with these decisions taken to protect our forest resources and to prevent possible fires with sensitivity," it was expressed.
