The White House blamed Democrats for the armed attack attempt at a dinner attended by President Donald Trump. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, 'This political violence stems from the systematic demonization carried out by elected members of the Democratic Party and even some in the media.'

Using the phrase, the White House spokesperson said that some circles constantly make 'fascist' comparisons for Trump and 'compare him to Hitler,' stating that this is 'unacceptable.'

Leavitt said, 'The hateful culture of the leftist wing toward the President and his supporters has caused many people to be injured and killed, and this weekend almost the same thing would have happened again.'

Arguing that Democrats in the U.S. Congress blocked the passage of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) budget, causing some security units to experience vulnerabilities, Leavitt stated that the Secret Service, under DHS, was also negatively affected by this situation.

Leavitt described that despite this, the Secret Service performed 'heroically' to protect Trump and his cabinet members, calling on Democrats to pass the DHS budget.

ATTACK AT THE WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS' DINNER

Following the sound of gunshots at the dinner organized by the White House Correspondents' Association, U.S. President Donald Trump was removed from the hall by his security.

At the event broadcast live, shortly after the meal service began, sounds rose, and Trump's security teams were seen in the hall with long-barreled weapons.

After the incident, Trump announced in a post on his social media account that the suspect had been caught, and images of the suspect lying face down in the hotel lobby with his clothes removed were reflected on social media.

Stating that a Secret Service agent was injured and in good condition, Trump, when asked if the attack was linked to the Iran war, replied, 'I don't think so, but you never know.'
