A woman in Denizli, wearing a hijab and accompanied by her 2-year-old daughter, was attacked by another woman while boarding a public bus. In the incident, which involved insults and a scuffle, the female passenger shouted at the hijab-wearing woman, "Get out of here! Who do you think you are? Get her out of here. I don't want people like you. Go back to your country!" During these terrifying moments, the little girl was overwhelmed with tears.
A woman in a headscarf, who boarded a public bus in Denizli with her 2-year-old daughter, was subjected to insults and vulgar curses from another woman. Following the insults, a scuffle occurred.
ATTACKED BEFORE EVEN SITTING DOWN
The incident took place in the Akkonak neighborhood of the Merkezefendi district. According to the information obtained, the woman in a headscarf, who boarded the bus on route 540 operated by the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality from the Akkonak Park stop with her 2-year-old daughter, was verbally attacked by another woman on the bus before she could even sit down.
SCUFFLE OCCURRED
Despite all warnings, the attacking woman continued her aggressive behavior, saying, "Get out of here. Who are you? Get her out of here," which led to a scuffle.
THE LITTLE GIRL WAS IN TEARS
As the women were separated by other passengers on the bus, the 2-year-old daughter of the woman in a headscarf was overwhelmed with tears. Other passengers tried to calm the crying child.
"I DON'T WANT PEOPLE LIKE YOU, GET OUT OF THIS COUNTRY," SHE SAID
After the citizens on the bus separated the fight between the two women, they reported the situation to the police. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the area. The police took both women first to the hospital and then to the police station. A witness to the incident described the moment as follows:
"On the Denizli Metropolitan Municipality bus, an open woman verbally attacked a young woman in a headscarf first. She started saying, 'Get out of here, I don't want people like you.' Then she shouted, 'I don't want you, get out of this country.' After that, she began to curse and insult. The woman in the headscarf was Turkish, not a foreigner. There was a 2-year-old little girl next to the covered woman, who experienced trauma. We couldn't calm the little girl down; she kept crying due to the impact of the incident."
AN INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN INITIATED
The moment of the incident was recorded by a passenger on the bus using a mobile phone camera. An investigation regarding the incident is ongoing.
