A discussion started between Emrah Duran (42) and his wife Aysel Duran (43) over a "jealousy" issue while they were heading to an entertainment venue on Şahabettin Bilgisu Street. WOMAN KILLED HER HUSBAND WITH A GUN
During the ongoing argument, Ayşe Duran shot Emrah Duran with a gun from their home. Health teams who arrived at the scene upon notification determined that Duran had lost his life. Aysel Duran, who was taken into custody by the police, was arrested by the court after her procedures at the police station.
UNREGISTERED NUMBER SPARKED THE ARGUMENT
Aysel Duran's statement to the prosecutor's office has been obtained. In her statement, Aysel Duran said that they went to the entertainment venue at her husband's request, that her husband had been drinking alcohol, and that the argument started when her husband claimed that nearby men were looking at him and became jealous. She mentioned that they got into the car after leaving the entertainment venue, and that she gave him her cell phone at his insistence, and the argument continued. Aysel Duran recounted that when they got home, she lay down and went to sleep. She stated that Emrah Duran woke her up after a while, asked for the phone, and questioned her about an unregistered number, which led to another argument when she said she didn't know whose number it was. She also mentioned that her husband woke one of their two daughters and shouted, 'The person your mother is cheating on me with.'
"I TOOK THE GUN FOR SUICIDE PURPOSES"
Aysel Duran stated in her testimony that when Emrah Duran learned that the number he called was not in use, he told her, 'You intentionally had the number closed.' She then went to the bedroom to take the gun with the intention of committing suicide, and while she was pointing it at herself, her husband came in and said, 'You won't do anything, let me take that gun, then you'll see.' They argued and went to the living room, where her husband told her, 'Shoot, if you don't shoot, I will.' Aysel Duran stated that when he pointed the gun at her, their daughters said, 'Mom, don't,' and because of this, she hesitated. She said that while her husband was heading to the bedroom to get the second gun in the house, she closed her eyes and fired randomly, and her husband fell to the ground.
"I JUST WANTED A HAPPY HOME"
Aysel Duran recounted in her statement that she called the 112 Emergency Call Center and said she shot her husband, who was lying motionless on the ground. It was learned that she also called her brother to explain the incident and said he needed to take the children. She stated that her intention was not to shoot or kill her husband, and that she had forgiven him many times for things he had done before. Aysel Duran's statement included, "I just wanted a peaceful and happy home; I am very sorry."
